Lecturer Position available


Position Title: Lecturer in Economics

Location: UMBC, Baltimore, MD

Position Type: Faculty

Position Description
Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in introductory and intermediate level microeconomics and macroeconomics as well as opportunities for teaching upper level undergraduate special field courses. The position has a teaching load of 4 three credit hour courses each semester. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to participate in undergraduate curriculum development and student learning outcomes assessment. 

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is a mid-sized research university located between Washington and Baltimore with a Carnegie classification of RU/H: Research Universities (high research activity).  UMBC has a strong national reputation for undergraduate teaching innovation. Completion of a PhD in Economics is strongly preferred. There is also a preference for candidates with a track record of teaching effectiveness.
